About IDRA
The International Drought Resilience Alliance (IDRA), initiated by Spain and Senegal, was launched during COP 27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, bringing together leaders from over 25 countries and 20 organizations. IDRA’s mission is to support countries in enhancing their resilience and preparedness for future droughts.
Premise
To support IDRA’s launch, the Høst Advisors design team, including myself, collaborated with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) to develop a new visual identity and create engaging communication materials.
Objective
Successfully launch a compelling brand that drives world leaders'action
Research & Ideation
Visual concept
The creative team developed three concepts, which were presented to the UNCCD team. A specific direction was chosen, symbolized by the signature, representing a promise and an internationally recognized act of commitment. The design team then took the essence of the signature concept and infused that energy into the "A" of Alliance, emphasizing the dynamic and meaningful act of signing.
My role
As a visual designer, I’ve been supporting the creative directors by assisting in exploring visual identity concepts and being involved throughout the entire process—from ideation to development and launch.
Solution
I have been responsible for sourcing relevant images and exploring layout options to effectively apply the visual identity across various assets. This includes creating templates and graphics for social media, which have been published on the official UNCCD Instagram account.
Impact
IDRA was successfully launched at COP 27 and over 32 countries signed onto IDRA along with the support of 20 international organizations.
